Caring for Your Jeans, the Eco-Friendly Way
We construct our jeans so that they'll last a life time if cared for properly.
Below are green alternatives to washing—and damaging—your favorite denim:
SUN AND AIR
Hang your jeans inside out on a line in direct sunlight for a few hours. This is an
effective way to reduce and eliminate odors without washing them. UV light breaks
down chemicals that cause odors. These rays are so powerful, they’ll bleach your fabric
(hence why we stress flipping your jeans inside out).
VINEGAR SOAK
Soak your jeans in cold water and vinegar instead of washing them. Add one cup of
distilled while vinegar to a cold water bath and soak your jeans for about an hour. Hang
or line dry and let mother nature do the work. Also, don’t worry about smelling like
vinegar. The odor goes away once your denim dries.
FREEZE THEM
To maintain your beautifully broken in jeans, you can also try freezing them. Fold your
jeans neatly and place inside a bag. Seal the bag fully and insert it into your freezer.
Remove after one week and wear as new. While this process won’t remove stains, it is
intended to kill any living organisms and odor causing bacteria.
